Adult Beginning Ballet
It is understandable that one thinks of a bright eyed tot in a powder pink leotard when the phrase 'beginning ballet' is heard. But the Adult Beginning Ballet class offered at the Nancy Whyte School of Ballet in Bellingham is specifically designed for the male or female (a good decade older than that beginning child) with an interest in learning ballet. The class will meets every Monday and Wednesday evening at 7pm. The Adult Ballet class has a relaxed dress code, simply dress comfortably for movement. For registration or more information call the ballet school at 360-734-9141. This class is $50 per calendar month, or $15 per class. Adult Beginning Ballet Students have no Registration Fee as our gift to you.

The reasons for participating in the class are as individual as the adult dancers themselves. Here are just a few:

EXERCISE: Ballet is an aerobic exercise technique for both men and women which uses the entire body. Ballet improves balance and posture, stretches ligaments, exercises muscles, sharpens the mind and gradually shapes the body.

PARENTS OF DANCERS: In the true spirit of walking a mile in someone elses shoes, parents of children taking ballet can be found taking an adult beginning ballet class themselves! Many of these parents have been observing ballet classes for years and will likely find that visual experience gives them a strong foundation for taking their own turn at the ballet barre and understanding the movements.

DANCERS: Experienced dancers know that adding an adult ballet class each week can enhance their performance in their chosen discipline. Whether their first love is ballroom or bellydancing, dancing in the clubs or highland dance, ballet with a qualified instructor at the Nancy Whyte School of Ballet improves the dancers body and ultimately, their performances in other dance fields.
COLLEGE STUDENTS: The Tuesday evening Adult Beginning Ballet class is frequently a good fit for the college or highschool students busy daytime academic schedule.
RETURNING DANCERS: So you used to take ballet, but haven't in years. The Adult Beginning Ballet class offers a terrific supportive environment for rebuilding your flexibility and musculature safely. The names of the steps and positions may be dusty to you now, but a weekly ballet class does wonders for
bringing back both your confidence and what you used to know.
