Curriculum:
Early Childhood Dance Program
Preparatory dance class for young children ages 3-6 years. Combines elements of movement, experimentation, music, ballet concepts, physical fitness and early ballet positions and steps.

Tiny Feet: Classes in movement and music activities for children 2.5-3. These are wonderfully shared activities for small children and theoir parents or care gaiver, and foster an early, life-long, love of music and dance. Please note that these classes have a different enrollment and duration policy.

Children's Ballet---Levels I-IV
Academic ballet taught in a loving and correct manner. Each level connotes a level of attainment and a physical and intellectual grasp on the material being taught.

Progress in dance is a very individual matter and cannot be rushed. Ballet technique takes many years to fully master. A student may be assigned to the same level for more than one year.

Ballet---Levels V-VIII
A continuation of the syllabus for ages 13 years to adult.
Pointe work is introduced for students as they are technically ready for it.

Adult Beginning Ballet
Evening courses designed for both the adult ballet student (male oe female) and for adult dancers returning to the ballet studio after an extended absence.
Registration fee is waived for thie particular class.Please call 734-9141.

Pointe
Separate Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced
Pointe Classes are offered each week for ballet students who are technically ready. Proper Pointe Instruction is vital to protect the dancers feet, legs and back in later years.

Private Ballet Instruction
Private Ballet lessons are available and scheduled through special arrangement with the Nancy Whyte School of Ballet. Please call 734-9141.


Theatre Arts Program:

Kids Beginning Jazz
Children 7-10 years of age will enjoy this fun Beginning Jazz dance class. Students need not be taking our ballet curriculum to participate in this course.

Latin Jazz
This exciting new jazz form is offered to students 12 years and older. Latin Jazz is the fusion of Latin motion and rhythm, utilizing a jazz foundation in an Afro-Cuban/Latin dance style with a Salsa/Mambo flavor. Latin Jazz has a unique emphasis is elegance, style, precision and beauty.

Tap: Tapping Feet & Fun Beats:
Classes in beginning tap with emphasis on rhythm in music and poetry for 7-9 year olds

Musical Theatre:
A class which combines age-appropriate Broadway style dance, song and acting especially designed with 7-12 year olds in mind. Students will be working on scenes adapted from Broadway musicals.

Private Vocal Instruction:

Nancy Whyte, who has studied voice for 18 years, given solo concerts, and placed in statewide and regional vocal adjudications is now accepting beginning voice students. Call to schedule lesson times. 734-9141

Summer Dance Workshops:
Children's Summer Dance Camp
A fun and stimulating event for children ages 4.5 years and older, and intermediate dancers 13 years and up. The nationally recognized syllabus incorporates lessons on anatomy, health, nutrition, dance history, dance terminology and musical structure along with a daily dance class.

Summer Ballet: Intermediate & Advanced
A variety of ballet, pointe and repertoire classes and workshops
are offered for the dance students who have attained intermediate to advanced technique.

Ballet exercises at the barre are an essential portion of each ballet class. The barre exercises increase muscular strength, flexibility, speed and help attain balance, control and proper alignment.
level 2 childrens ballet in centre
Level II childrens ballet dancers step away from the barre to do some centre work halfway through their class. The spacious studio gives them lots of room to learn leaps and turns. The quality floor, designed and built specifically for dancing, will protect their young legs and ankles.
