The 33rd Season of Bellingham's longest established dance company, Mt. Baker Ballet, begins with their annual "Dance into Spring" concert performance of new works.

    Dance into Spring 2008 will be  performed on the beautiful Bellingham High School stage located at 2020 Cornwall Avenue in Bellingham, WA. The Auditorium was included in the  Bellingham High School (built 1937-1938) renovations of 2000. The old auditorium space has been converted to a modern, state-of-the-art theatre dramatically reshaped for sight line optimization. The Bellingham High School Auditorium  now has 800 comfortable seats which all enjoy premium sight lines.

Creative Dancewear (located at 2300 James Street, Suite 2C in the James Street Business Center).
Tickets will also be available at the door.

Festival seating at this dance event means you will need to arrive early for the "Dance into Spring" 7pm performance at the theatre space to ensure your entire party can be seated together.
  The Mt. Baker Ballet was first commissioned as a resident company at the Mt. Baker Theatre (currently under rennovation) in 1975. For over a decade the company was affiliated with the prestigious organization Regional Dance America. the company has brought guest artists from world class companies to perform in their productions in Bellingham and showcased new works from choreographers from all over the United States.

  Nancy Whyte, founder and artistic director of the company, has taught in Bellingham since 1969. In addition to running the Nancy Whyte School of Ballet and directing the Mt. Baker Ballet, she conducts dance workshops in the public schools, is guest faculty for Dance Theatre Northwest in Tacoma, and is artistic director of the Alpha and Omega Worship Dancers. In 2004, and again in 2005, 2006 and 2007, she was one of nine choreographers nationwide to be selected to participate as a choreographer in the Glenda Brown Choreography Project. She has been awarded the National Plaudit Award by the National Dance Association for her contributions to dance in education, the Bellingham Mayor's Art Award in 1984, and been invited to be on a panel for discussing choreographic trends in the Soviet Union in 1991.
