| Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the March Hare and all the fanciful characters of Wonderland will be present in the Mt Baker Ballet’s and the Nancy Whyte School of Ballet’s presentation of “Alice in Wonderland” June 21, 2009 at the Mount Baker Theatre at 7 P.M. |

The dancers dance, sing, and act their way through the beloved story of Alice landing in Wonderland via rabbit hole, and venturing through Wonderland in pursuit of the White Rabbit trying to get home in time for tea ,in a bright retelling of the story written and directed by Nancy Whyte artistic director and choreographer, with Russ Nelson, technical director.
“This story fascinates children of all ages. After the great success we had with the “Wizard of Oz: last year, this seemed a natural successor”, said Whyte “Russ is such a talented stage and set designer, that it seems inevitable he should be designing this production, which is so dependent on vision and imagination and creativity; all qualities that Russ exemplifies.” |

The cast of 75 features Sierra Thomsen as Alice with Alexi Maloy as the Mad Hatter and Liana Parrish as the March Hare. Kelli Hay performs the White Rabbit, Nina Deacon, the Cheshire Cat, and Annie Brinson plays the Red Queen. The production features a magical sea scene with Jessica Crook dancing the Sea Queen. |

The Nancy Whyte School of Ballet was first established in Bellingham in 1969. In 1975, the Mt. Baker Ballet was established, and has continuously performed as Bellingham’s own ballet company, both locally and nationally since the time of its inception. |
